Our constant reinvestment policy in the development and technological innovation has allowed us to broaden our offer of equipment providing solutions for each industry.
Beyond its relevance in economic or productive terms, the food industry represents one of the sectors with greater diversity and dynamism. Within this industry, there is a wide variety of technological needs in terms of quality management and process automation, areas in which Penta has been developing for over 40 years.
Even though in any industrial process there is a metallic contamination risk when speaking about food, the potential impact acquires another dimension and because of this, the food industry is the broader one regarding the metal detector usage. The main quality regulations like HACCP, IFS, BRF or ISO 22000 allude to the metal detector as an essential element to guarantee the products’ integrity.
For all that, the usage of metal detectors goes through all over the food spectrum (fresh, processed, frozen) in different presentations (in bulk, packages, bags, boxes, jars, etc) and transport modes within the productive process (free fall, conveyor belts, pumping systems, etc.)
Moreover, the weight management systems increase its relevance from the moment it contributes to the cost reduction at the same time the legal violations risks are minimized. In many cases, this last item is the one that determines the need for including a dynamic weighing system or checkweigher, at the end of the production line to avoid claims due to missing products. However, in practice it is verified that a checkweigher increments the process efficiency which draws from reducing costs because it is no longer necessary to “add product in excess to avoid the risk of claims or a sanction due to a shortfall” It is enough to determine a target weight and indicate a broad range of tolerance to ensure that the product will have a correct weight with no shortfall nor excess.

In the mining industry, the usage of metal detectors is related directly to the need for protecting machines. Mills and crushers may suffer significant ruptures due to metals, some of them are rough like steel to manganese, which accidentally gets mixed with the product to be processed.
Frequently, companies are considered protected due to the usage of magnetic tramps or electromagnets. However, this protection is very biased because all non-metallic metals are out of reach. In this sense, metal detectors ensure that protection is against all kinds of metals; ferrous and non-ferrous, magnetic and non-magnetic.

In the context of the rigorous quality demands which involve the pharmaceutics industry, the metal detector has a role assigned which is fundamental in the examination of pills, capsules, and tablets.
Since 2013, Penta has formalized an agreement for commercialization of the pharmaceutical model with Wynka SA company which belongs to the PAT group which has a wide trajectory in the offer of integrated solutions for the sector.
The need to cover some of the two main functions of metal detectors: quality control and machine protection; or implementing weighting solutions and automation, it is present in numerous industrial activities.
In over 40 years of trajectory, Penta has installed its products and solutions in plastic, rubber, wood, textile and chemical industry.
